The task
Our task was to develop a compelling name for this craft beer and design an eye-catching visual concept for the can packaging. The design needed to incorporate elements from both Budvar and Clock brewery, with a particular focus on integrating a robot motif, which is typicaly appears on Clock’s labels. The overall vibe should evoke freshness, juiciness, summer, and appeal to young urban consumers.
The beer we were designing for is a limited edition craft beer dedicated to the summer season. Brewed in collaboration between two breweries, it is a juicy pale ale with a refreshing fruit aroma. The beer is positioned as a new, trendy, and sexy option for consumers seeking a flavourful summer brew.
To create an engaging name for the beer, we explored various concepts that would capture its freshness and limited edition nature. Ultimately, "Summer Affair" emerged as the winning name due to its evocative and playful nature.
In terms of the visual design, we aimed to convey a laid-back summer ambiance, with the robot character depicted enjoying a carefree beach experience. The robot, representing the Clock brewery's branding, is seen savouring the beer in its hand, demonstrating a deep affection for the product. The final illustration was skill-fully crafted by Dalibor Krk, an accomplished artist known for his unique style.
The color palette we chose for the can design aligns with Budvar's established brand colors, prominently featuring shades of red. This ensures that the limited edition beer stands out while maintaining a visual connection to Budvar's overall brand identity.
Our collaboration with Budvar and Clock brewery resulted in an engaging and visually captivating beer can design for the Summer Affair limited edition craft beer.
