Two breweries. One summer story.

Asset A

We were invited by Budějovický Budvar to design the packaging for a limited-edition beer Double Trouble created in collaboration with the craft microbrewery Obora. This unique partnership between a national brewing icon and an independent producer aimed to capture the spirit of summer in both taste and design targeting a younger, urban audience and expanding Budvar’s creative footprint through meaningful collaborations.

The Task

Design the packaging for a limited-edition beer born from a summer collaboration between Budějovický Budvar and the independent microbrewery Obora. A meeting of worlds - heritage meets craft, tradition meets experimentation. From the start, this project stood apart. No clichés. No hops. No golden flourishes. Just a sharp, modern aesthetic that captured the easy-going nature of a summer ALE and the fresh energy of the partnership. The challenge? → Create a label that breaks away from the beer shelf noise — immediate, bold, and different. → Respect Obora’s visual identity, while keeping the connection to Budvar clear. → Speak to a younger, urban audience who is experience-driven, curious and unafraid to try something new. The result is a design that stands out, signals its limited-edition character at first glance, and fits seamlessly into Budvar’s strategy of connecting with small, independent breweries. Beyond the label, we also explored a visual system that could evolve into a flexible identity for future limited editions keeping the door open for diversity, without losing coherence.
